We hope this can inspire you to become a successful person too! It is worth listening to a successful entrepreneur or to people who share their success stories. We can significantly learn many things from the experiences of them, by listening to their story.
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with him:
Q1) Tell us a little bit about your childhood and education, please.
I come from a middle-class family. Since childhood, I was very inquisitive and wanted to explore the world. I was put into a competitive exam when I was 10 years old – to get into Navodaya Vidyalaya, where I studied till class 10th. I moved to DPS Bokaro for my 11th and 12th. Bokaro gave me a competitive edge to get into the IIT.
Q2) Tell us a little bit about your IIT experience, please.
I started having all-around development here. While I was among the top students of the batch – I was equally involved in all other extracurricular activities. I participated in all the different functions like Antaragni (cultural festival @ IITK), Techkriti (technical festival @ IITK), and Galaxy (inter-hall competition).
While studying at IITK, I got placed into GE in their prestigious technical leadership program – the Edison Engineering Leadership Development program. Over a period of 3 years, I went through very rigorous training and project work – which educated me about all the technologies GE worked on. Then I moved to the USA within GE itself. I got to work on a product there and be very close to customers. Now I could see the customer 360 degrees.
After spending 4 years in the USA, I decided to start my own business.
Q3) What was your key driving force to an entrepreneur’s journey?
I worked with GE in India, the USA, and Europe. I saw the 360-degree view of the business while working with GE. From R&D to tech, to product, to applications. I always wanted to solve problems for millions of people and create a larger impact. This drove me to take the entrepreneurial journey.
Q4) How many hours a day do you work on average?
On an average 12 – 14 hours a day.
Q5) Please describe the highlights of a ‘regular day at the office?
High connection with customers. Solving complex problems and connecting with the team. Strengthening and energizing the team to achieve more. Ensuring they learn & earn to move forward at all levels. Above all, I believe the work environment must be filled with pleasure not pressure to achieve the common goal.
Q6) How we could encourage communication in relationships? Either it’s personal or professional?
Communication is the pillar of any relationship – be it personal or professional. In today’s world – the foundation of any business is communication. With the advancement of technology, communication has become very important and convenient. One should never hesitate to talk to the customer, write to the customer.
Q7) What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?
I would say that my greatest fear is speaking in public. Whenever possible – I prepare in advance before speaking in public. Other than this – there is no fear. There is only one life to live and live without fear.
Q8) What comes first for you money or emotions?
Compassion. Connecting with people, with their issues and challenges – gives me the highest satisfaction.
Q9) What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to be successful leaders??
Always think long term and make decisions thinking long term. In the short term, don’t be afraid of making mistakes and taking challenges. Take decisions, make adjustments and move fast.
