Monica Swamy is an Independent Corporate Trainer, Transition Coach and Digital Content Consultant. She started her career in Accenture as a Software Engineer in SAP. After working for a few years in various technical roles in various organizations, her aspirations for working closely with human resource directed her to complete her MBA degree in HR, Certification in Global Career Counselling and Coaching certification in Life & Career Transition.

After 12 years of her corporate stint she decided to leave her corporate journey to give more quality time and moments to her personal life and do a lot more work in social skill enhancement space.

She has trained & groomed 1000’s of youngsters on swiftly transiting from Campus to Corporate by working closely with them on developing their life skills and enhancing their employability quotient. She has also worked with students, teachers & professionals on developing Leadership in all walks of life.

Her current focus is to expand her wings as a Trainer/ Coach/Counsellor and spread the power of life skills and people skills in all industries, all levels and all age groups. Today we got a chance to interview her, let’s know more about her.

Q1) How did the idea for your business/startup come about?

While interacting with professionals while taking interviews I realized there is a huge gap in the studies and in the needs of the job. Apart from academia a lot of life skills are required for anyone to get a job and grow successfully. That’s where Idea cam to focus and work towards upskilling everyone from schools, colleges & corporates.

Q2) What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?

I wanted to do a little more in all walks of my life be it my personal life and relations or be it my professional growth or giving back to society.

Q3) How did you come up with the name for your business/startup?

I still work just as an Independent consultant so my name is my brand and my mission is to educate and coach. Monica is a latin word which means “to advice”.

Q5) Why should people choose your product/services?

As educating for me is not just a business but a mission & passion.

Q6) How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Good Work in each client intervention has helped me to keep on spreading my work. Also, LinkedIn a professional networking space has always given me business leads.

Q7) What risks are you facing? 

None as of now

Q8) Did pandemic (COVID 19) affected your business? if yes how?

No it didn’t rather on a virtual level I was able to spread my work in more locations in India and globally.

Q10) What are your responsibilities as the business owner?

To give value to learners with whom I interact.

Q11) How many hours a day do you work on average & can you describe/outline your typical day?

Well as an Independent Consultant I enjoy a lazy day with an hour of working at the same time my busy days keep me engaged unto 18hours a day. My Typical days have 6 to 8 Hours of training, 2 hours of self development & learning, 4 hours of family time, 1 Business Calls

Q12) What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

Every time impacting all equally is a fear which I need to work out through.

Q14) Tell us about your early life & How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

In my journey my family and my kid has seen my career transition very closely and have even supported in all its bad and exhaustive times.

Q15) What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs??

Clarity of thoughts & Willingness to do are the most important components.
